CCC STUDENT LIFE ACTIVITIES (6-12)

Middle and senior students have a rich program of daily lunch time activities, organized by the Student Life Coordinator, that offer a more-quiet area of board games, house challenges and art activities that complement the ever popular “mini” soccer field and roof top games of basketball. Besides socializing during lunch, students may also use the library or computer lab for research or quiet reading.

ATHLETICS, SPORTS, AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Student wellbeing includes individual physical activity, team sports, skill building, mental challenges and healthy competitions scheduled into Wellspring’s academic IB expectations. A variety of team sports and physical training exercises are integrated into the IB PHE (physical health education) MYP curriculum and the PYP PSPE (personal, social, physical education) requirements in units of inquiry and stand-alone sessions. PHE subjects earn full grades in the IB system. Expectations include mandatory student participation, research projects and real-life connections are part of the subject requirements.

IB and Physical Education (PE) link through holistic development, emphasizing physical literacy, healthy lifestyles, and well-being across programs: PYP (Personal, Social, Physical Education – PSPE) builds foundational health; MYP (Physical and Health Education – PHE) integrates activity with conceptual learning for balanced lives.

CCC Varsity Teams (6-12)

Middle and senior students may also continue their passions and technical skills afterschool by joining Varsity teams of football and basketball. Professional training and guidance under the supervision of highly qualified coaches and instructors support learning and friendly sportsmanship. Varsity membership allows selected student athletes to participate in local meets, friendly games and official tournaments throughout the year.
