Our

Philosophy

Rooted in the IB philosophy, the PYP at Wellspring is built upon the belief that every child is a natural-born inquirer, eager to explore the world around them. PYP nurtures this curiosity, fostering the development of well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also compassionate, empathetic global citizens.
PYP Transdisiplinary Currriculum

IB Transdisciplinary

6 Units of Inquiry

Through PYP transdisciplinary curriculum, students at Wellspring delve into six overarching units that transcend traditional subject boundaries.

From “Who we are” to “Sharing the planet,” the IB curriculum empowers students to make connections across disciplines, fostering a deep understanding of real-world issues and concepts.

  • Who We Are
  • Where We Are in Place and Time
  • How We Express Ourselves
  • How the World Works
  • How We Organize Ourselves
  • Sharing the Planet

Approaches to Learning

Approaches to Learning (ATL) in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) are

fundamental skills designed to help students “learn how to learn” by fostering independence, critical thinking, and self-regulation

Organized into five key categories—thinking, research, communication, social, and self-management—these transdisciplinary skills are embedded into inquiry-based learning, enabling students to apply them across subjects and in daily life.
