Lebanese Program
At Wellspring Learning Community, we celebrate cultural diversity and recognize the importance of honoring the local context, content and educational requirements in which Lebanon operates. In addition to our prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, the school is proud to offer the Lebanese Program to Lebanese Nationals who are required by law to sit for the official Grade 9 Brevet and Grade 12 Lebanese Baccalaureate exams.

About the

The Lebanese program at Wellspring offers local students the Sociology and Economics track to prepare them for the two-year cycle and the official Grade 12 Lebanese Baccalaureate exam, taught by experienced educators who are deeply familiar with the Lebanese Curriculum. The program ensures that students receive a comprehensive education that meets the testing requirements set by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education to prepare for the required National Exams.

Lebanese Program for Lebanese Nationals

Lebanese Program or IB Equivalence For Grades 11-12

Lebanon’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education approved in 2018 the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme as an equivalant option exam for Lebanese citizens.

There are specific requirements if a Lebanese student wants to enter the 2 year IB programme. Students must take classes of Civics and History along with either IB Arabic B High Level or Standard Level Arabic A.

Bilingualism and Multilingualism

Through the Lebanese program, students develop proficiency, ensuring fluency in both Arabic and English, and equipping the students with valuable language skills for success in a globalized world.

French is a required subject in the PYP Programme for all students until Grade 6. At that time, students (foreigners in Grade 6) may select French, or Spanish as a third language. All students enrolled in Lebanon and at Wellspring are required by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to study Arabic as a second language until Grade 10.

At Wellspring Learning Community, we believe in providing a holistic education that prepares students to thrive in a multicultural world. Whether students choose to pursue the IB Programme or the Lebanese Program, students will find a supportive and learning environment where they can grow academically, socially, and culturally.
