International Baccalaureate
Wellspring Learning Community believes in providing an exceptional education that prepares students to excel in an ever-changing world. Central to the approach is the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, renowned worldwide for its rigorous academic standards, emphasis on holistic development, and commitment to fostering global citizenship.

What is the

IB Framework?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme is a globally recognized framework for education that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are motivated to succeed. Wellspring Learning Community is an IB Continuum World School that offers three distinct IB programmes:

1. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3 to 12.
2. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16.
3. The Diploma Programme (DP) for students aged 16 to 19.

Each programme is designed to provide a comprehensive and rigorous educational experience, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to thrive in today’s interconnected and rapidly changing world.

Academic Excellence

The IB programme challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and excel academically. With a focus on inquiry-based learning, the IB encourages students to explore concepts in depth and develop a deep understanding of subject matter.

Wellspring is proud to celebrate the Class of 2024 Alumni Kareem S. and Karim A. along with their partner Matteo E. for developing BudgetIQ, an app that redefines financial literacy for students by making budgeting, saving, and smart spending fun!

Their project recently earned a Top 5 spot at the JA

Cyprus Startup Competition! This milestone exemplifies the creativity and problem-solving spirit fostered here at Wellspring.

Student Wellbeing

Why student wellbeing matters. Wellspring and the IB

place high importance on student wellbeing, viewing it as central to holistic education, linking it directly to academic success, and fostering it through the learner profile, inquiry-based learning, and creating supportive, inclusive environments that develop resilience and character skills.

The IB actively researches effective wellbeing practices, supporting schools to integrate wellbeing policies into their core curriculum and culture, beyond just academics, to ensure students thrive personally and intellectually.

Global Perspective

In an increasingly interconnected world, the IB programme fosters international mindedness and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives.

Through inquiries into global issues and engagement with the local and global community, students develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of social responsibility.

Preparing for The Future

Whether students pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or embark on other pathways, the IB programmes equip students with the skills and attributes needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

With its emphasis on inquiry, critical thinking, and lifelong learning, the IB prepares students to adapt and succeed locally and globally.
